The University of North Texas Department of Media Arts is proud to offer training, testing and certification in Avid Media Composer. As the leading platform in television, Avid has become an industry standard at all levels of production. Media Arts students have the opportunity to learn this benchmark program and receive certification while still enrolled at UNT. The department is an official Avid Learning Partner, so this training is now also available to the general public through Avid Certified User workshops.

These workshops are hosted in the UNT Media Arts department's lab facilities which include high end editing workstations, high speed CAT6 connectivity and high capacity network media storage. Workshops are led by Media Arts faculty with both Avid Certified Instructor credentials and real world editing experience. These experienced Media Arts ACIs are able to tailor classroom information to the unique needs of each workshop group.

Workshops are held multiple times throughout the year. On-site workshops for groups or departments can also be scheduled depending on instructor availability and confirmed number of attendees.
