Equipment & Editing Facilities

Our facilities include the equipment room where you can take out cameras, lights, mics and other equipment for class and student projects. We also have several editing labs (various audio setups, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Avid) that you can reserve. There is also an open computer lab open late. The open lab does not reserve computers and is first come, first served situation. Need to work outside the lab, UNT has a great deal with Adobe for students

Studio & Production Space

We have two studio spaces in the department that are used for class and ntTV. They can be booked for student films (well in advance) using bookstudio.space. We also have a virtual studio system that students can use for post-production, animation, and game design. We also have several additional large rooms that can be converted to studio space throughout the building. We have a well stocked prop room, and often work with the theatre departmetn for costumes (and actors) for productions. The department hosts two radio stations 88.1 Indie and 88.1 Jazz as well as numerious podcasts and audio sports coverage.

Media Library & Research

The Media Library is now located in Willis Library on the second floor. The Media Library contains the UNT Libraries’ non-print, audiovisual, tabletop games, and video games collections. (If you don't have a DVD player you can borrow one there.) If you don't have a game station they have them available on location for you to play—everything from Atari to VR. The Media Library also has The Nest, which is an e-sports and game design space. The mission of the UNT Media Library is to support the instructional and research needs of UNT faculty, staff, and students by collecting, maintaining, and providing access to media materials that represent all academic disciplines and all genres of film.
