Benshoff's been busy

Professor Harry Benshoff chaired a workshop and took part in a panel on reception studies at the annual SCMS (Society for Cinema and Media Studies) conference in Boston March 21-25.

Jonathan Frid portrayed 'Barnabas Collins' in 'Dark Shadows' on TV from 1967-71.Also, Benshoff's co-authored paper (with former UNT RTVF graduate student Travis Sutton) titled "Twilight and the Modern Mormon Vampire" was recently included in the volume Horror After 9/11: World of Fear, Cinema of Terror, edited by Aviva Briefel and Sam J. Miller published in Austin by the University of Texas Press.

Of special note is Benshoff's book on the cult TV show Dark Shadows (1966-71) was recently published by Wayne State University Press as part of their TV Milestones series. It's just in time for all of us to find out more about the show and perhaps join Benshoff in his anxious wait for the Tim Burton - Johnny Depp reboot of the franchise that's scheduled to open this summer.
