Javier Carmona is an actor, filmmaker, and educator.

He has performed in Chicago with Redtwist Theatre, Invictus Theatre, The Artistic Home, AstonRep Theatre Company, and Three Cat Productions among others.

Exhibitions & Screenings include IVY NODE; Nurri, Sardinia; Hyde Park Arts Center Chicago; Traeger & Pinto Contemporary Art, Mexico City; The Mexican Cultural Institute of New York; and L'art 23tres Contemporary Art, Mexico City.

Carmona's work has been featured in the anthologies: Latinx Photography in the United States: A Visual History by Elizabeth Ferrer and Contemporary Chicano and Chicana Art by Kaytie Johnson; as well as Nueva Luz Photographic Journal, Southwest Art, Nerve Magazine, La Jornada, and El Excelsior.

Residencies include: BecomeBecome, Nurri, Sardinia, Italy / Officina Zone Umane, Lazio, Italy / The Center Program, Hyde Park Arts Center, Chicago / 33OC, Toffia, Italy / Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Snowmass, Colorado.

He has been a student of The Actors' Space, Barcelona, and Victory Garden Theatre Conservatory, Chicago. Carmona received his M.F.A. from the University of New Mexico and his B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
