Media Arts Festival

You're encouraged to get your submission in for the 2nd UNT Media Arts Festival that will be held April 6 - 8, 2017. This emerging student-run festival provides an opportunity for university-level filmmakers, both foreign and domestic, to exhibit their work. The 3-day festival will include professional film screenings, meet and greets, panels of entertaintment industry professionals, and a culminating awards ceremony.

There are six separate student competitions (in addition to awards for the best in each category, the Top 5 in each category will receive a certificate):

  • Narrative film
  • Documentary film
  • News
  • Screenplay
  • Audio
  • Mixed media

With broadly set categories, the program should encompass a variety of genres, mediums, experiences, and cinematic journeys. All students are encouraged to submit their work!

  • Free to submit
  • Project must have been completed after January 31, 2016
  • Any student is eligible to submit a project regardless of filmmaking experience or film classes taken
  • All entrants will be eligible to compete for category prizes

Submissions will be accepted from Nov. 28, 2016, through Jan. 31, 2017, at filmfreeway.com/festival/mediaartsfestival.

ALL entries must be from a student currently or recently enrolled in a University of North Texas degree program.

STUDENT VERIFICATION WILL BE REQUIRED AND APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE THEIR EUID AND/OR STUDENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.
