Presentation and Q&A with Pixar artist

30 p.m.In 2005, Rob Thompson got started at Pixar Animation Studios as an intern. He's gone on to be one of the animators for the Golden Globe©-winning Cars 2, and Academy Award©-winning features Ratatouille, WALL·E, Up, Toy Story 3, and Brave. He also contributed to the DVD short film BURN·E and the studio's 2015 summer release Inside Out. Most recently, Thompson served as the directing animator for Disney·Pixar's The Good Dinosaur which is set for release on Nov. 25.

As a directing animator, Thompson works with the animation teams to ensure they achieve the director's vision for the film, including keeping characters on model, bringing clarity to the director's notes, and solving technicals issues that may arise.

Raised in San Diego, Calif., Thompson earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Laguna College of Art and Design.

Thompson will make a presentation and hold a Q&A session on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. in RTFP 184.
