ntTV Senior wins television fellowship

Stephanie ThomasonConverged Broadcast Media major Stephanie Thomason has a job all lined up after she graduates on Sat., May 12.

Thomason is one of just three graduating seniors nationwide to win an inaugural Raycom Media Fellowship. Raycom is one of the nation's largest broadcasters and owns or provides content for 48 television stations nationwide. The media giant established the fellowship this year, and will award it annually to just three promising U.S. broadcasting graduates.

The trio will enter a two-year program, getting paid while they learn every aspect of the television business.

After graduation, Thomason will start her fellowship at KCBD, the NBC affiliate in Lubbock, Texas. She will spend time working and learning in every department at the station during the course of the fellowship.

As an undergraduate, Thomason put in countless hours as an anchor and producer for ntTV Nightly News. She was also a producer for the first two seasons of the Emmy Award winning ntTV program North Texas Now.

Thomason will formally be presented with her fellowship at RTVF Honors night being held on Wed., May 2, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Union's Diamond Eagle Suite. Friends, family and fellow students are invited to attend.
